Farmer’s Market extravaganza: Spin the wheel and win a free tote or play our Summer Sampler game with a chance to take home a prize pack. Stop by the market table for a chat, grab a colouring sheet, get reading recommendations, and more.

Brooklin: (across from the Library at 3 Vipond Rd.) Saturdays, July 20 and August 17, 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Mystery Spotter: We love it when people take over a study desk, curl up with a book in a cozy corner, or host an online meeting in our spaces, but did you know, not everyone has their library card? We’re hoping each person who comes through our doors has a card in their pocket. Enter the mystery spotter. How does it work? Our spotter randomly asks a patron if they have a library card. If they do, you guessed it, they win a prize pack!
Staff t-shirt day: Think blue – as in Whitby Library blue! When you visit any of our locations on Wednesday, August 7, our staff will be sporting their new blue t-shirts featuring cool line-art of our three locations. It’s a day to celebrate our incredible and caring staff who work hard to help you get the most out of your library card.
Tote bag giveaway week: Yes, it’s true! For five days from Monday, August 12 to Friday, August 16, sign-up in person for a library card and get a free Whitby Library tote bag! (while supplies last)
Summer events: Our awesome Community Outreach team will be in the community all summer long handing out free totes at major Whitby events, stories in the park, movie nights, and more!
For purchase: You can also buy a tote for two dollars or grab three for five dollars.
