Our Visiting Library Service provides library materials to Whitby residents who cannot visit the Library due to long-term illness, disability, or age. Items are selected by staff and delivered by a volunteer on a regular schedule. This service is available year-long pending volunteer availability.

Time Commitment
- 3–4 hours per month (flexible schedule)
Volunteer Qualifications
- Age 18+
- Possess a means of delivery transportation
- Ability to lift and carry bags of library materials
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Good interpersonal skills
- Provide the Library with a current Vulnerable Sector check
Volunteer Responsibilities
- Pick up library materials when assigned
- Deliver library materials to assigned customer(s)
- Return patrons’ completed materials and Visiting Library Service bag(s)
- Advise staff of any changes or requests made by the patron
- Respect confidentiality
