Welcome to the Teen Advisory Council (TAC) application for Whitby Public Library! We invite teens in Grades 7 - 12 to join us in making our library a vibrant hub for our community. As a TAC member, you'll have the opportunity to shape library programs and services, engage with your community, and forge new friendships.
About the Opportunity: The Teen Advisory Council brings together teens for monthly meetings where they collaborate with library staff on projects that benefit both the library and the community.
What Volunteers Do: Volunteers attend monthly meetings with library staff to offer recommendations on services, spaces, publications, collection promotion, and programs. Through these meetings, volunteers receive leadership training, gain insights into the operations of the Whitby Public Library, and encourage fellow teens to participate in library initiatives. By working on projects together, volunteers develop leadership and communication skills while creating tangible benefits for their peers.

Responsibilities:
- Have an active Whitby Public Library card in good standing.
- Attend monthly meetings
- Offer ideas to enhance library services for teens
- Collaborate with staff and other volunteers on projects
- Promote Whitby Public Library to other teens
Time and Place:
- Meetings are held once a month for approximately one hour.
- Meetings take place in-person at the Central Library.
