Journey under the sea for the 2026 TD Summer Reading Club, featuring more prizes than ever!

Are you and the kids ready to set sail for an exciting adventure? This year’s TD Summer Reading Club (TDSRC) theme, Dive In, is splashing with nautical vibes as we celebrate the many waterways that shape our planet and the magical creatures that call them home.

TDSRC is Canada’s largest bilingual summer reading program for kids of all ages, interests, and abilities. It celebrates Canadian authors, illustrators, and stories that inspire kids to explore the fun of reading. Summer reading programs are a proven tool to help bridge the summer gap between school years and help maintain academic engagement.

Kids can track their reading on Beanstack to earn badges and the chance to win cool prizes.  What kind of prizes you ask? Readers are eligible to win Reptilia passes, cool stuffies (including a giant shark), a crab bubble machine, book sets, and more!

We're encouraging children to visit our locations once a week to share what they've been reading and collect beads for a reading necklace!

Jay with Sharks.

Library staff have created loads of exciting programs that tie-in with this year’s theme. Shark Week promises to be tons of fun. There’s also Fintastic Merfolk, Sticky Water Showdown, Crabby Crafts, Paper Jellyfish, Creature Masks, and so much more. This printable handout has the full summer line-up of a variety of children’s programs at our three library locations.
