Community Passes

Your Library card gets you free access to local attractions and community destinations. Please check each location's website before visiting for current hours and closure information.

Updated June 1, 2026:

All existing holds on Community Passes have been cancelled effective June 1.

We’re making changes to how you borrow Community Passes to ensure everyone gets a chance to enjoy them. Long wait times have become a barrier to getting these passes in your hands. Starting July 2, 2026, passes will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, at our branches. We will also be launching six new community passes on July 2.

To get ready for this transition, Community Passes will be temporarily unavailable from June 1-30, 2026

Although customers will not be able to reserve a pass by calling ahead or placing a hold in the catalogue, you will be able to check online for current availability—here’s how you can do this:

  1. Type the name of the pass you are interested in in the Search box at the top of the library’s website home page or online catalogue.
  2. Click on the title to view availability.

The availability of passes can change quickly as customers borrow and return them throughout the day. While the catalogue may show a pass as "available," we can’t guarantee it will still be there when you visit the branch.

Community passes will continue to have a 7-day loan period. The passes will not be renewable or valid for special events hosted by the participating organizations. The Library’s Fees Policy applies to community passes.

As always, we are grateful to customers for returning passes on time so that others may enjoy free general admission entry to various local and provincial cultural and tourism destinations.

We know how popular our passes are, and we believe this updated lending model will benefit our community. Thank you for your patience as we prepare to bring you a better borrowing experience!
