The 2026 Winter Olympics are almost here, and our athletes will soon chase gold in Milano Cortina! While the world watches, you can catch Olympic fever right here at home. The Whitby Library has exciting ways for you to connect, celebrate, and show your support for Team Canada alongside your community.

Our popular storytimes seemed liked a podium-worthy pick for an Olympic takeover. All ages can take part in our drop-in sports-themed Olympic Storytime followed by a fun craft! Make Olympic torches and Canadian flags to take home to display proudly during the games.

We have something in mind for teens, too! Ribbons are on the line in the Teen Library Olympics, a library-style competition where teams will work together for the win.

Next up is a program for the 18+ crowd! It’s Adult Trivia Night: Whitby Library’s Winter Games. Do you think you have what it takes to reach the podium? Flex your Olympic knowledge and compete against other TriviAthletes for the chance to medal.

Want to watch the Games with others or get a quick medal count update while you’re picking up your holds? Look for an Olympics viewing area set up in the Central Library for the duration of the Games.
