Find Library programs exclusively online as WPL retires its Program Guide.

Following the lead of the Town of Whitby and many other public libraries, we’re excited to introduce a fresh way for you to discover our programs. Beginning this summer, we’ll be retiring our Program Guide and moving fully online.

All your favourite programs are still right at your fingertips! You can browse, explore, and register in seconds with just a click of a button.

There are three main reasons for retiring the Program Guide. First, our data shows that the vast majority of patrons now go directly to our online calendar to find the information they need, rather than using the Program Guide. Second, eliminating the quarterly printing and production of the Program Guide results in meaningful cost savings for the Library. Finally, moving to an exclusive online format is a more environmentally responsible choice.

There are still plenty of ways to stay connected with our programs. Our new monthly program desk calendars—available at all Library locations—have quickly become a patron favourite. You’ll also find pop‑up signage highlighting seasonal activities, including children’s summer programs and special celebrations. Many of our patrons take a photo of our monthly desk calendars and pop-up signs for an easy way to keep track of what’s happening at the Library.

To stay in the know, sign up for our weekly email newsletter, which features exciting stories and program highlights. And don’t forget to follow us on Facebook and Instagram for the latest Library news.

Look for the launch of our exciting line-up of summer programs mid-May.

We’re always happy to help with any questions you may have. Send as email at askcaf@whitbylibrary.ca or give us a call at 905 668-6531 ext. 2010. Patrons requiring accommodations can ask staff for an accessible format.

Looking forward to seeing you at a Library program soon!
